7th Annual Allison Taylor Holbrooks/Barbara Jo Johnson
Breast Cancer Conference:
"Finding Answers to Your Questions"
The 7th Annual Allison Taylor Holbrooks/Barbara Jo Johnson Breast Cancer Conference, sponsored by the Northern California Cancer Center, was held on March 1, 2008 in San Francisco. The conference provided updated information about breast cancer treatment and quality of life issues to 180 attendees. Sixteen faculty from nine agencies and twenty exhibitors from throughout the Bay Area were on hand to answer questions, provide resource information and services, and to help identify additional issues to be addressed at future programs. Topics for the general session included clinical updates, genetics and family risk, health changes and the challenge of change in each of our lives, and personal perspectives about living with this disease – the perspectives of both a mother and a daughter.
The morning session was audiotaped and is available for viewing below.
The breakout sessions addressed treatment of DCIS, reconstructive surgery, young women’s issues, caregiving and caregivers, living with metastatic disease, estate planning 101, managing treatment side effects, a medical panel to address questions, and a seminar about menopause, hormones, sexuality and urogenital changes. The breakout sessions were not audiotaped.
