Add Your Hand to the Fight!
Everyday in California, about 150 people lose their battle with cancer. Together, we can prevent that. Your gift to the Northern California Cancer Center makes a difference to all who face cancer risks and to those in our communities who live with this disease.
Support research that could change or save a life.
Each cancer diagnosis means a new fight for someone's spouse, parent, child, or friend. The Northern California Cancer Center's world-class research teams track and study cancer cases with expertise, developing innovative insights and understanding about cancer that can translate to lifestyle changes that reduce cancer risks.
Reduce cancer disparities in underserved populations.
Our research and outreach programs focus on underserved populations in the Bay Area and throughout California. People in minority groups will continue to be disproportionally affected by cancer until we know more about risk factors and treatment issues in these populations. Your gift could increase this knowledge. Our outreach efforts present cancer and health information to diverse communities that often do not have access to cancer education. Knowing what lifestyle changes can reduce your cancer risk is crucial to fighting this disease in all populations. With more funding, we could reach out to more of these groups with improved educational efforts, allowing for more access to this vital information.
Extend NCCC's reach in the communities that need it most.
The Northern California Cancer Center's educational programs bring critical health information and support to cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones. However, due to their demand, these programs are often filled to capacity with continuing requests for more information. Your gift could guarantee participants more access to these valuable resources.
What makes NCCC different from other cancer organizations?
The Northern California Cancer Center is a model of regional collaboration and a public health resource. As a center of excellence in population sciences, the NCCC is an essential partner in Stanford University’s National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center. Since we do not have medical doctors or treat patients, we are able to focus primarily on pure cancer research functions without promoting a particular agenda, hospital, doctor or service. Additionally, NCCC researchers have immediate access to cancer registry data that allows them greater ability to respond to the needs of our communities. By focusing much of our work in the area of health care disparities, NCCC helps those who need it most.
