Laura King Pfaff A fifth generation San Franciscan, Laura King Pfaff is Chairman of Bonhams & Butterfields, the leading West Coast auction house established in 1865. As Chairman, Mrs. Pfaff oversees the Trusts and Estates Department, Museum and Institutional Services and the Marketing Department. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing at the University of Southern California. An avid tennis player, Mrs. Pfaff began her career in the world of professional sports where she developed her skills in developing large-scale sponsored events. In 1985, she joined the well-known public relations firm The Pacific Group. From 1995 to 2001, Mrs. Pfaff was the Senior Vice President and Regional Director of Christie's Fine Art Auctioneers. In addition to serving on NCCC's Board of Trustees since 1999, Mrs. Pfaff has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the California Pacific Medical Foundation and for Santa Catalina School. She has also been an associate board member of the Fort Mason Center Foundation and a member of the Board of Governors of the San Francisco Symphony. Mrs. Pfaff has organized many charitable events including events for the San Francisco Ronald McDonald House, the 1995 and 1997 San Francisco Symphony's Black and White Balls, the 1998 San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMoMA) Auction, the 2002 Valentine's Ball for SFMoMA, and the celebration for Michael Tilson Thomas' 60th Birthday for the San Francisco Symphony.
