About NCCC
Welcome to the Northern California Cancer Center
As the Bay Area's leading independent, population-based research organization, the Northern California Cancer Center is dedicated to its mission of preventing cancer and improving the quality of life for those living with cancer. Located minutes from Silicon Valley, the Northern California Cancer Center partners with hundreds of scientists, academic institutions and community agencies in the U.S. and around the world, working to advance the understanding of numerous cancers, including breast, cervical, prostate, ovarian, colorectal cancer, lymphoma and more. NCCC enjoys a reputation as a nationally recognized leader in epidemiological studies of cancer and is now partnered with the Stanford Cancer Center (a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center) in creating a comprehensive cancer research and community outreach enterprise in Northern California. NCCC scientists also hold faculty appointments at Stanford University's School of Medicine. Over the past five years, NCCC scientists have received over 90 grants totaling over $62 million in funding for their research. In addition, NCCC's Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Dee West, ranks in the top five percent of grant awardees in the last 25 years of research-related National Institutes of Health grants nationwide.
