The goal of this pilot study is to better understand the types of information breast cancer patients seek, and the resources they currently use to address these information needs. A second goal is to determine how the Cancer Information Service (CIS) can better assist breast cancer patients in meeting their needs. This project will address the following specific aims: 1) to examine the resources, aside from primary health care providers, that breast cancer patients use in their search for cancer information; 2) to examine the extent to which breast cancer patients use the Internet; and 3) to identify Web sites used by breast cancer patients.
